Adam Gilman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and exposure with response/ritual prevention (Ex/RP) for anxiety/OCD. He has experience working with adolescents and adults in both individual and in group therapy environments. Adam has a special interest in providing therapeutic support for individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder (BPD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), difficulty regulating emotions, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. Adam enjoys helping clients explore their emotional and cognitive experience and find more effective pathways towards accomplishing their goals using validation, compassion, and humor.
Adam received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Clark University and his Master Degree in Social Work from Simmons University. Formerly, Adam has worked with the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health and Framingham State University's Counseling Center, helping residents and students to develop coping strategies and provide mental health support. He received extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) at McLean Hospital’s 3 East Continuum. At 3 East, Adam provided DBT and taught DBT skills and concepts to residential and partial hospitalization program participants.
