Therapeutic D&D Role Playing Group

Embark on a therapeutic quest in our Dungeons & Dragons-centered therapy group! Unleash your imagination and discover healing through adventure, where the power of therapy meets the magic of storytelling.

Our Therapeutically Applied Tabletop Role-Playing Games (TT-RPGs) groups offer a unique and engaging 8-week journey to explore personal growth, build essential social skills, and process emotions in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. Led by Adam Gilman, a licensed clinical social worker and experienced game master, each 120-minute session blends collaborative storytelling, roleplay, and teamwork with creative narrative therapy techniques. Players will gain insight, develop resilience, and find their inner strength—all while having fun.

We offer separate groups for both teens and adults, creating age-appropriate spaces to connect and grow through meaningful shared experiences. The in person group meets Mondays from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Watertown office. The cost is $75 per session, and the group is limited to 6 participants. This group draws upon established therapeutic techniques in narrative therapy, social skills training, and drama therapy. The therapeutic potential of D&D is an exciting area of exploration, with clinicians and researchers increasingly recognizing its value alongside traditional therapeutic approaches.

Participants will develop and strengthen valuable skills in:

  • Respecting different perspectives

  • Tolerating frustration

  • Coping with emotions

  • Managing feedback

  • Building confidence
