Timothy W. Lambertson, MS, is a dedicated mental health clinician specializing in evidence-based treatments for a wide range of presenting concerns impacting individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. Tim holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in couple and family therapy from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

During Tim's clinical training, he completed a rigorous practicum at The Nicolas A. Vacc Counseling and Consulting Clinic, gaining valuable experience in addressing the acute mental health challenges of adults that have faced systemic barriers and inequalities from historically underrepresented groups.

Tim's professional journey continued at a community based family therapy practice, where he served as an intern therapist. There, Tim worked with children, adolescents and adults facing diverse diagnoses, such as anxiety, panic, trauma, emotion dysregulation, depression, interpersonal issues and relationship discord. Tim's professional focus includes providing dedicated support to men as they navigate their unique experiences within a dynamic and evolving culture, particularly those who are new to seeking mental healthcare. In addition, Tim's expertise extends to leading therapeutic groups and delivering short- and long-term individual, couple and family counseling.

Tim incorporates a variety of treatment modalities into his practice. He has received extensive training in PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy), an evidence-based treatment effective for young children with emotional and behavioral challenges, impulsivity, and anxiety. This dyadic intervention empowers parents by teaching skills and providing in-vivo coaching to enhance children’s emotional regulation, cooperation, compliance, and reduce anxiety.

Tim primarily utilizes PCIT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for treating individuals, as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Systemic Therapy for couples and families.

Tim's practice embodies a compassionate and collaborative approach, empowering clients to achieve meaningful growth and well-being. With nearly two decades of mindfulness and meditation practice, Tim believes in the transformative power of contemplative analysis combined with evidence-based therapy, providing comprehensive, culturally sensitive care to all those he serves.
