Dr. Fields is a postdoctoral fellow specializing in evidence-based treatments for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and trauma- and stressor-related disorders in adults. She went on to earn her M.S. (2022) and Ph.D. (2026) in Clinical Psychology from Suffolk University. Dr. Fields completed her predoctoral internship (2025-2026) at the VA Boston Health Care System, where she trained in the General Mental Health Clinic, PTSD Clinical Team, and Women’s Trauma and Recovery Team.
As a clinician, Dr. Fields’ theoretical orientation is grounded in evidence-based practice, specifically cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and third-wave CBTs, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Dr. Fields has extensive training and experience in the provision of trauma-focused treatments, including cognitive processing therapy (CPT), prolonged exposure (PE), written exposure therapy (WET), skills training in affective and interpersonal regulation (STAIR), later adulthood trauma reengagement (LATR), and imagery rehearsal therapy (IRT). Additionally, she also has interest and experience in clinical diagnostic assessment and evidence-based treatments for OCD and anxiety disorders. Dr. Fields uses a collaborative, integrative and process-based approach to individualize treatment. She prioritizes establishing a strong therapeutic alliance that aims to empower clients to engage in treatment and pursue meaningful value-based goals. Dr. Fields approaches all therapeutic relationships with a culturally conscious lens, appreciating and attending to individuals’ intersecting identities and cultural diversity.
Dr. Fields greatly values the integration of research to inform clinical practice. Her research interests include exploring reward system impairments, emotional reactivity and regulation dysfunction across psychiatric disorders. Her program of research includes several published manuscripts on shared mechanisms that underlie mood, anxiety, and trauma- and stressor- related disorders.
